As long time Maui residents, Doug & Kelly Pitzer & family show their love for Maui in a variety of ways. Below, you'll find summaries for some of the groups and organizations they regularly support or are members of. The Pitzer family endorses each of these organizations and are grateful for the additional support they've received, over the years, from many of their clients in an ongoing effort to make our whole Maui "Ohana" stronger and to "Malama Ka ‘Aina" - take care of the land. We recognize as builders that it is up to us, more than most, to move forward in responsible, sustainable ways.

Supporters:
Save Honolua Coalition & Honolua Advisory Commitee

In response to the concerns of the community, Maui Land and Pine has withdrawn all conceptual plans from the General Plan Advisory Committee. This includes the golf course, the luxury homes, as well as all plans for parks, open space, and cultural uses. The Honlolu Advisory Council and Save Honolua Coalition are two groups of concerned community members who have come together to help secure the future of Honolua Bay and Lipoa Point. We are dedicated to preserving, revitalizing, and protecting these areas by mediating dialogue and planning between the community and the landowner.

Supporters:
SHOPO (State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers)

SHOPO: "Honored, Proud, and Boldly Serving and Protecting the people of our communities."

SHOPO is an independent Police Union, and the exclusive representative of all police officers in the State of Hawaii , up to and including the rank of lieutenant. Our primary goal is to vigorously lobby and negotiate with the respective State and County Administration in attaining the best working conditions and benefits, to provide for, and to improve the quality of life for our members and their families.

This SHOPO web site is first dedicated in the Honor and Memory of Our Fallen Heroes who have admirably carried out and performed the ultimate sacrifice in serving and protecting the lives and properties of the people of our communities.

Supporters & Coach:
West Maui Little League

A variety of organized T-Ball and Baseball leagues are currently operating on Maui during the summer and after school. There is a league for every age and every skill level. All teams are coached by dedicated volunteers and are sponsored by non-profit associations or the County Parks and Recreation Department.

Community baseball programs have for many years provided youths with a wholesome and enjoyable experience that helps them develop into contributing citizens for the betterment of the community for future generations. As a youth oriented activity, the coaches and volunteers strive to emphasize the importance of participation over competition. A quote from the National Little League Association's handbook bears a message that volunteers take to heart while being positive role models to children, "Whether we win or lose, I will always try my best."

Supporters:
Lahaina Chiefs POP Warner

Pop Warner was founded in 1929, continues to grow and serves as the only youth football, cheerleading & dance organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate. Pop Warner's commitment to academics is what separates the program from other youth sports around the world.

As the only national youth sports organization that requires scholastic aptitude to participate, Pop Warner is committed to developing America's young people on the field and off. Each year Pop Warner continues to expand its efforts in team and activity participation, as well as visibility and outreach in the community.
